The town’s sheriff has his suspicions but no genuine evidence for an arrest, even as the murders continue and appear increasingly ritualistic in nature. And when an arrest is finally made, all hell breaks loose—literally—as a terrifying horror rises to envelop the town. Soon it’s all up to an unforgettable and motley group of residents to band together and eliminate an ancient evil in a desperate struggle for survival.
It’s a wild, crazy, bloody, and weird ride, if I do say so myself.

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t spent a good chunk of time this weekend refreshing my screen to see if the novel had populated onto bookseller websites. I knew it was gonna happen. Still, when it did, I might have gasped aloud. It feels awesome to see it out there like this. After spending so much time on the book, it feels real.
I was having an old fashioned at a local watering hole, doing a little writing, when the novel started showing up online. As the cover appeared on my screen, a tremendous cheer and mad clapping rose up from the other patrons. They were all right there with me, all right by my side, bellowing their approval.
Also, the Chiefs were playing and, in these parts, that’s a pretty big deal.
This week, Outland Entertainment will be launching the Kickstarter campaign for WINTERMOURNE. This is a role-playing supplement in zine form and it will be part of the Make 100 initiative. Yeah. There’s only gonna be 100 of them. Pretty wild, huh? It introduces a new world in the Outland pantheon. If you want to make sure you don’t miss the campaign, you can follow it HERE.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Outland Entertainment Newsletter. It’s a short and sweet newsletter covering various Outland projects and creators. It’s worth a look if you are a fan of fantasy, science fiction, and horror. I think it is particularly interesting because in the next week or so we are launching OUTLAND WORLDS, a FREE digital magazine featuring new works of fiction, new comics, and new role-playing game content. Yes, yes. I’ll be mentioning it here when the first issue is available, but the Outland newsletter is another great way to stay in-the-know!
I finished WITCHCRAFT FOR WAYWARD GIRLS, and I liked it a lot. Grady Hendrix books are tough to compare for me. I’ve enjoyed all of them. I have a ranking of MY favorites, but it’s completely subjective, and all of them are solid reads. As it stands right now, my favorites among the novels I’ve read (so, not counting PAPERBACKS FROM HELL, which is also terrific) are:

HORRORSTOR (Admittedly, this is one that slipped past me and I’m reading it right now)

Really, though. It’s hard to go wrong with any of them!
At long last, I watched HERETIC, and I thought it was an absolutely wonderful movie. Chilling. Great script. Great acting. Hugh Grant gives one helluva performance in this. If I had managed to watch it when it came out, it would have been in my list of top horror flicks of 2024.

A little disappointed I didn’t get an ARC of Bones of our stars, Blood of our world. It’s almost as though you knew I would have sold bootleg copies on the black market for beer money?!
I can't wait to get my hand on a copy of Bones of "Our Stars, Blood of Our World". Seems right up my alley.
Also, I just read my first Grady Hendrix book, and it was Horrorstör (there's a review for it on Goodreads and in my next newsletter). I'm reading Witchcraft for Wayward Girls at the moment. Glad to know you liked it
