(Copy) Vicious Shivers (Cullen Bunn's Official Newsletter), Issue 112
This is the 112th issue of Vicious Shivers, a (mostly) weekly newsletter for fans of my work. Thank you for subscribing. Please share it with others if you think they might be interested!
On Friday night, my son hopped on a bus with a bunch of his friends and set off on a school field trip. It’s the first time he’s been away for more than an overnight trip. I miss him terribly and I’m worried pretty much every second he’s away. I also know how important this trip is to him and how much fun he’s having. Still, kinda weird.
Thinking about his trip got me to thinking about some trips of my own that are coming up.
In about a month, I’ll be attending my first comic book convention in two years! That will be Planet Comicon in Kansas City. I am not attending as many events this year as I have in the past. There are five coming up with two of them already “officially” on the books. I’ll be adding the others to the public calendar as soon as the shows announce me as a guest. I’m excited to be be attending shows again!
I’ve posted something like this before, but I think it’s worth sharing once again. Here is how I handle signings at my booth:
I will sign 5 books for free (assuming they’re not graded/witnessed).
For more than 5 books, I’m charging $5 per book.
Graded/Witnessed books will be $20 per book.
Of course, I’ll sign anything you buy at my table for free.

I was recently reminded about some short prose stories I had been working on in the past. I wrote one—“Them What Ails Ya”—and started two others. I’m going to be finishing and reworking those stories over the next couple of months. I’ve already started the next one, “Mama Raptor,” and I’ve been posting it on Patreon.
I found a really great title image that Brian Hurtt did for the story. I thought you might like to see it.

I’m so excited that THE GHOUL NEXT DOOR has been nominated for the Oregon Book Awards Graphic Literature prize. Co-creator Cat Farris is the Oregon resident, so it’s really her nomination and she deserves it for all the amazing work she did. But I’m proud of the book, and I’m honored that it is being considered.

THIS WEEK’S OBSESSIONS...
Right now, I’m re-reading DEAD IN THE WEST by Joe Lansdale.
I don’t really think I’ve watched much of anything. There are lots of things I want to watch, I just haven’t had the time.
I’ve been gathering some old Judge’s Guild D&D modules. I’ve been reading through them, and it is an amazing look at the gaming of my youth. They bring back so many memories!
